A wooden toy rattle made by P. Graham Dunn of Dalton, Ohio was recently recalled because it poses a choking hazard to children.
The rattle is composed of an outer ring of wooden dowels which encase a small metal rattle. If the wooden dowels become lose or displaced, the metal rattle becomes easily accessible to children. Although no injuries have been reported, four broken rattles have been reported so far.
In all, 500 units of this rattle, which was made in China are being recalled. The rattle was sold for $6.00 between June and July 2010.
The small circular rattle is 2 and ¾ inches in diameter and consists of eight wooden dowels. It consists of two circular light brown wooden discs on the top and bottom connected by the dowels.
