What a thrilling sight to see… the new USS New York sailing down the foggy Mississippi River near New Orleans on her maiden voyage. The New York was built by patriotic Louisianians at the Avondale Shipyards out of steel salvaged from the bombed World Trade Centers as a tribute to those who died on 9/11/01.
I’m proud of our Louisiana workers who donated much of their time working on the USS New York just doing their small part to build a powerful tribute to our fellow American citizens!
