Injured Workers, Talk to Your Legislators

work-place-injuryI recently got finished reading a John Grisham novel called The Appeal. It was all about big business and the power and influence that they had over the people who make the law. Unfortunately, this is is not as fictional as some might think it is. Big business, i.e.. insurance companies, have had their hand in trying to change the laws to their favor. Many times they have tried to change the already pro-business workers’ compensation laws. If the laws already favor the business, why do they need to be changed? In the book it was because of greed, in the real world it is exactly the same.

I challenge all workers, injured or not, to contact their legislators and get them to help the injured worker. The worst possible thing that can happen in today’s world is to get injured at work. Please let your legislators know that they need to protect the people that have elected them.
