Rhino Recall

After 46 deaths and hundreds- possibly thousands of injuries- Yamaha Motor Corp. has announced that instead of a recall, they are issuing a “repair program”  for 1450,000 of their Rhino all-terrain vehicles. They will also immediately halt the sale of their Rhino 450, 660 and 700 model vehicles.

Yamaha will fix the Rhino vehicles in order to correct a dangerous design flaw. The Rhino vehicles will get a spacer on the rear wheels, half doors, additional hand holds and removal of rear sway-bar in order to improve handling, prevent roll-overs and keep occupants’ arms and legs protected.

For some the repairs will come too late. Yamaha is already facing 46 deaths, hundreds of injuries and a number of Rhino lawsuits. However, it is good to see that Yamaha is doing the right thing by recalling and repairing the Rhino.
