Under Louisiana workers compensation law, you have one (1) year from the date of your work injury to file suit in workers comp court. If your employer has been paying your workers comp wage benefits, then you have a year from the last payment of wage benefits to file suit. If your employer has paid for medical treatment for your work injury, then you have three (3) years from the date of the last payment to file suit.
