Recently I was a victim of a burglary. Money, appliances and guns were stolen. If you have never been a victim of crime count your blessings. To say the least, it is quite an invasion. You begin to wonder if you will ever feel comfortable in your own home again. The intruders came and went without a trace. It could have been anyone. All at once it felt as if there was nothing that could be done to bring the culprits to justice much less get the stolen property returned.
Immediately upon calling the Sheriff’s office things started to get better. Their response was calming and helped me regain confidence. The investigation was thorough and complete. The process and goals were explained. All duties were carried out in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. The effort and manpower was relentless. All calls were answered. I knew from the moment they were on the case that no stone would be left unturned. My security and comfort returned.
Within 3 weeks the crime had been solved and most of the stolen items recovered. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have such a good result. We are all very fortunate to have such a fine Sheriff’s office. I am very thankful for all of the fine men and women who keep us safe and secure. I especially thank Detective Steve Phillips for his tireless effort and personal attention.
The next time you pass a patrol car take time to waive or nod to acknowledge the great people that make up the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. Let us know if you have a good experience with law enforcement to share.
