A machine shop worker from Houma was killed in a work place accident yesterday morning. Officials report that the man was standing behind a forklift when it backed up and ran him over. Emergency crews were dispatched, but they could not save the man’s life.
Company officials refused to comment on the accident, which has been reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. OSHA will conduct a full investigation into the incident and will produce a report of its findings within 6 months.
