An Abbeville Police Officer remains in critical condition after his police cruiser collided with an 18-wheeler on U.S. Route 90 at the intersection of Estes Road in Iberia Parish.
The officer attempted to cross the eastbound travel lanes on U.S. Route 90 when he allegedly failed to yield to the east-bound 18-wheeler. The officer was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the crash.
