A 21-year-old Lafayette man will face charges including three counts of negligent homicide, failure to maintain control and driving with a suspended driver’s license after he struck and killed an Alexandria woman and her two teenage daughters in a horrific crash Friday afternoon.
The mother and her girls were walking on the shoulder along N. Bolton Avenue when the driver of Chevy Equinox, apparently failed to correct his driving path after passing another vehicle, and hit the three pedestrians. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, the other daughter died at the Rapides Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Equinox remains hospitalized.
